Our beautiful Gite 'Au Soleil' ( which means ' In the sunshine') is set in wonderful rural French countryside. We are situated in the quiet village of St.Clair, just south of the market towns of Loudun and Thouars and about 50mins drive south of Saumur and 40mins north of the regions capital Poitiers.
St.Clair is within the Vienne department of the Poitou-Charentes region, officially the second sunniest region in France.
We are ideally situated as a base for touring the numerous and very interesting historical and picturesque attractions in this region of France. Alternatively you may choose to just simply relax and unwind, enjoying the tranquillity of the French way of life in unspoilt countryside.
So much is on offer here from fishing, cycling, horse riding, nature trails, bird watching and rambling to the slightly more active pursuits of golf, tennis, swimming or water sports.
The Gite 'Au Soleil' was originally part of a wine producing farm and is set in almost 1 acre of colourful and natural gardens. The Gite has been sympathetically renovated to a very high standard, is full of character and is well equipped. The Gite is positioned adjacent to the on-site owners' farmhouse and provides off road car parking.
